Most of my life’s work has been at the intersectionality of creativity and spirituality. I’ve often been curious, expressive and passionate about finding and making meaning in the world. After all, we have this one wild life, what will we do with it?

And yet even in my idealism, I’ve often lost my identity to job titles, gone through seasons of immense struggle, faced chronic illness and faith shifts, wrestled with my sexual identity and traveled what felt like the dark night of the soul. And still… I ask: What wants to be born in me? What wants to take shape?

In seasons of life where we are forced to pause and take an inventory of our life, I’m inspired by the words of author and activist, Parker Palmer:

“Is the life I’m living - the life that wants to live in me?”

If this is a question that piques your interest, you’re not alone. As a former pastor I often found that people didn’t want answers as much as they wanted someone to sit with them in the questions. And the beauty of life is that we are co-creators with it. We no longer have to be passive spectators but rather active participants. No matter the season of the soul we’re in, we can choose to live a more intentional life by asking the deeper questions, listening to our life and sinking into the spiritual practices that ground us.
